Sleep Clinic Services are now available in Gladstone, using portable diagnostic sleep recorders which enable a sleep study to be performed in the comfort and privacy of the patient's home. Up until recently, sleep clinics required the patient to undergo the diagnostic sleep study (polysomnogram) in a hospital or sleep lab environment.
Apart from the convenience and savings associated with having sleep clinic studies done in the patient's home, the portable diagnostic sleep recorders ensure a more typical night's sleep. The foreign environment of a hospital or traditional sleep clinic often resulted in severely disturbed sleep and distorted sleep study results.
